The quiet town of Hamelin is troubled by too many rats and the townspeople are in a tizzy! What can be done? Hamelin’s residents then complain about the rats to their Mayor, who meets with his council. Much to their relief they are visited by a mysterious piper who agrees to remove the pesky rats from the town for 1,000 guilders. But can the Pied Piper solve the rat problem?

This summer, a production of Rats, presented by OperAsia, L&S Musical Theatre Production and Victoria Shanghai Academy Summer School will tell the tale. It’s a humorous fairy-tale musical with charming characters and witty dialogues. The whole play will showcase youngsters from 6 to 16 years old. The script, music and lyrics were written by Dave Perry and Jean Perry, one of America’s foremost choral music writing teams.

一個名叫漢姆林的寧靜市鎮出現鼠患，市民慌亂不堪，束手無策，遂向市長投訴。某天突然來了一個神秘吹笛人，自稱是捕鼠能手，只收一千金幣就能給他們除去鼠輩。究竟吹笛人是否真的能替市民解除鼠患呢？

這個夏天，由OperAsia, L&S音樂劇場及滬江維多利亞暑期學習營呈獻的音樂劇「魔笛傳奇」將會講述這故事。「魔笛傳奇」是一齣幽默童話音樂劇，充滿精采吸引的角色與詼諧雋永的對白。全劇將由六至十六歲兒童及青少年演出。 全劇劇本、音樂和歌詞皆是出自美國一對響噹噹的音樂劇創作組合：大偉．巴理與珍．巴理的手筆。
